Today it’s Holy Thursday, meaning Easter has arrived. There are so many different ways to celebrate Easter: Some have Easter bunnies, others have Easter witches, some celebrate today, others this weekend. Personally, I’ve never been on a real egg hunt outdoors. My parents used to hide the eggs in our house, and there was never any fighting over the eggs.
I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of the Easter egg tradition. Since I’m no longer living at home, and I don’t have any children, my boyfriend is the one getting all the eggs (hehe…).
Here are some low budget ideas of what you can fill your significant other’s Easter Egg with:
Want it to be more special, but not spend that much money? Make your own candy! These Rice Krispie Peanut Butter Balls would be perfect.
- Gift cards
I’m not talking about the usual gift certificate to a clothing store, but the home made kind. Give a gift card for a foot rub, neck massage, home made dinner, mini-home-spa, etc.
- Crafting/paint eggs
Make you own little craft kit. Buy some eggs, boil them, and paint them together! Or make your own Easter drawings/cards.
Sick of candy? Buy his/hers favorite alcohol and put in the egg.
Got a higher budget? Here’s some ideas for you:
- A trip
- Dinner out
- Tickets to some show, theater, concert, comedian, etc.
Regardless of your budget, it is the thought that counts. Put together a small selection of your SO’s favorite things and you will make their day. Big or small, as long it’s personal it will be appreciated. And no, you don’t have give any gifts at all if that’s not your thing. It’s supposed to be fun, and not a stress. I just happen to love holidays and giving away stuff.
- I had some candy waiting on my desk at work this morning. 2. The Easter card I gave my bf last year. Like I said: It doesn’t have to be anything major.
