Review: Davines Minu Shampoo & Conditioner

I’ve got a little bit of a writers block, or maybe I should say a blogging block. I have some ideas of what to do, but there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day to execute it. My goal is to get productive this weekend.

Meanwhile I’ve got another product review in store for you: Davines “Minu” shampoo, conditioner, and serum. I told you about my experience with the Kevin Murphy products before, so this time I wanted to try a different brand.

Here’s my thoughts of the Davines “Minu” hair products:

+ The smell. It’s different, and I like it. It’s not “girly” or “manly”, but just… nice and fresh.

+ The packaging. It feels so luxurious to receive the product in a nice little bag.

+ The serum. I love it! Apply in towel dried hair and it will leave it smooth and soft without making it heavy.

– No extra volume. My hair is so thin and flat by nature I need all the volume I can get. Event though the Kevin Murphy didn’t do wonders, the Davines did even less.

-The packaging for the conditioner. It’s big and bulky, nearly impossible to get open without breaking three nails. I guess the only benefit is that you’ll be able to get every last drop of it.

-Eczema. Yes. Again even more so than the Kevin Murphy. I think it’s because the Davines “Minu” products contains caper blossom extract. Plants (or anything natural) are rarely good for eczema. I need to stick to my lab tested chemicals.

Over all I wouldn’t say the Davines “Minu” shampoo and conditioner is a bad product. Although I might not purchase this particular product again, I would definitely be open to try¬†a different Davines product.
